“This is a major step forward. The previous production area was around 600 square metres, and we had outgrown it. To be better prepared for Brunvoll’s growth strategy, the upgrade was both right and necessary. The new production facility gives us more space, increased capacity, better lighting and a more efficient workflow, with modern equipment tailored to our production,” says Erik Evensen, Supervisor Electrical Assembly.
The new production area doubles the available workspace and provides significantly improved light conditions, better workflow and upgraded HSE standards for all employees. The spacious layout reduces risks of accidents, supports safer movement and handling, and enables more ergonomic workstations.

Beyond physical improvements, the enhanced environment contributes to psychological well-being. Wider and brighter spaces reduce stress, better break areas strengthen the social environment, and clearer structure in the workflow creates predictability: all important factors for well-being at work and long-term job satisfaction.
The new training and testing centre is an integral part of the investment, strengthening Brunvoll’s long-term commitment to competence building. It will be used for internal training, courses for service personnel and customers, and as a safe environment where apprentices can practise on equipment that is not in active production.
Brunvoll has more than 40 apprentices every year, and four of them are with our department. Now they get more space and more challenges. This strengthens the training and allows us to increase our intake over time,
Evensen explains.
This expanded capacity contributes to social sustainability by ensuring access to high-quality technical training, supporting fair and safe career development pathways, and securing future competence in an industry undergoing rapid technological change.

The expanded, modern facilities not only support a healthier and safer working environment but also strengthen Brunvoll’s capacity for resource-efficient production. The new test area can handle up to 60 units simultaneously, improving quality control and reducing the risk of rework and material waste. More efficient logistics, supported by shorter distances between engineering and assembly teams, helps streamline daily operations and reduce unnecessary internal transport. CEO Kåre Øyvind Vassdal emphasises that the expansion is aligned with Brunvoll’s long-term growth strategy:
“We have grown significantly over the past five years, and the electrical production
department became too large for the old premises. We plan to grow significantly going forward as well and are now seeking more apprentices and skilled workers so that we are prepared for the future.”
While the project’s primary impact lies in improved well-being and skillsdevelopment, it also contributes to environmental and operational sustainability. Theupgraded facilities enable:
These combined effects support Brunvoll’s ambition to reduce environmental impact across production processes while strengthening long-term operational resilience.

With its new electrical production and training facilities, Brunvoll has created a modern workplace built on safety, sustainability and continuous learning. The investment reinforces the company’s commitment to people, local value creation and low-impact production, thus laying the foundation for healthier working lives and sustainable industrial growth for years to come.
